avoided going back up to a higher level of care. This is the family you would otherwise be sending back into a program, and it is where a daily, home based model does its best work. Honestly, the referral we want most is even earlier: the teen or young adult before they ever get sent away, when keeping them home is still on the table.

How we work with your clients

It starts with a home visit

The coach comes to your client in person, in the real-world environment they have been stuck in. That is where the real work begins.

Unlimited daily access

Daily coaching touchpoints by text, call, and FaceTime. Not a session once a week, an everyday relationship your client can actually lean on.

The whole family, supported

Weekly parent updates, weekly parent coaching groups, and a dedicated parent coach plus a family manager the family can reach any day something comes up.

Three to eighteen months

Four coaching chapters that start heavy and get lighter over time, as your client builds real confidence and starts running their own life.

We work with your client's whole team. Therapist, educational consultant, personal trainer, whoever is already in their corner, we coordinate with all of them, you included. And if your client is missing someone they need, we help them find the right fit themselves, instead of handing the parent one more thing to manage.
How we're different

Our co-founders Colin and Hayley both went through the psych wards, the rehab, the wilderness, and the therapeutic boarding schools. They built Not Therapy out of what could have helped them before all of that, and what they actually needed afterward, which was peer-to-peer mentorship. We built it for the younger versions of ourselves, and it is intentionally non-clinical. Every coach on our team has lived their own version of it too, which is the whole reason a stuck young adult will actually let us in.

When a program is genuinely what a family needs, we tell them so. This is for everyone else.

"The biggest change in working with my coach has been with my social life, how comfortable I am with myself, and how that projects onto meeting other people."

Addie, client, age 18, New York City

"Since we started with Not Therapy, even my blood pressure has come down. As a parent, you are often completely aware of the potential in your kid, but when they don't know it, it is devastating, and watching their coach help him finally see it changed everything."

Wynee, parent, Chicago

How we work with you

No beds to sell, no referral fees

We are the least-restrictive rung on your continuum, not a competitor for placement. You stay objective, and we stay the home-based option for the families who do not need one.

You see how your clients are doing

Every family you send us comes with real visibility into their progress, not a testimonial months later. We keep you in the loop the whole way, because your name is on the referral too.

About these numbers

Based on 54 coaching engagements from January 2024 through March 2026. These are Not Therapy's own structured post engagement assessments, not validated clinical instruments, and there is no comparison group. Some clients were still active when we ran the numbers. We are coaching, not treatment, so we do not diagnose or provide medical care, and we do not promise outcomes. We would just rather show you the real data than a highlight reel.
