For parents deciding what comes next

Outcomes we’re not afraid to show you.

Here is what happened across 56 Not Therapy coaching engagements from January 2024 through June 2026. Families we work with have often heard plenty of promises but seen very little proof, so here are the real numbers.

The numbers that matter to you

89.1%

avoided escalating to a higher level of care

85.7%

were employed, in school, or both by the end of the coaching engagement

71.4%

families had decreased conflict

60.7%

parent-child relationships improved

Where the model is strongest

For teens and young adults coming out of a treatment program

96.6%

avoided going back up to a higher level of care. If your teen or young adult is coming home from a program right now, this is the moment that matters most and where the work is just beginning. Keeping their momentum going at home, instead of losing it in the gap afterwards, is exactly what we were originally built for.

How we work with your teen or young adult

It starts with a home visit

Their coach comes to meet them in person, in the real-world environment your teen or young adult has felt stuck in before. That is where the real work begins.

Four coaching chapters that start off with the most support and get lighter over time, as you and your teen or young adult build real confidence in them running their own life.

Their agency, their choice

We match your teen or young adult with one of our coaches, and we only start working together once they’ve met their coach and confirmed that they think Not Therapy would be helpful. Once they’re in, we’re all in.

We work with your teen or young adult’s whole team. Therapist, educational consultant, personal trainer, whoever is in their corner, we coordinate with all of them. And if they are missing someone they need, we help them find the right fit themselves instead of handing you one more thing to manage.

How we’re different

Our co-founders Colin MacDonald and Hayley Caddes both went through psych wards, rehab, wilderness, and therapeutic boarding schools. They built Not Therapy on what could have helped them before all that and what they actually needed afterward, which was peer-to-peer mentorship. We built it for the younger versions of ourselves, and it is intentionally non-clinical. Every coach on our team has lived their own version of it too, which is why a stuck young adult will actually let us in.

What our clients say

“The biggest change in working with my coach has been with my social life, how comfortable I am with myself, and how that projects onto meeting other people.”

“Since we started with Not Therapy, even my blood pressure has come down. As a parent, you are often completely aware of the potential in your kid, but when they don’t know it, it is devastating, and watching their coach help him finally see it changed everything.”

What changes for you

They do not have to leave home

No sending your teen or young adult away to a program in another state or hoping that once-a-week therapy is going to eventually get them moving. The work happens in their real life, on a daily basis, which is the only place the change actually has to stick.

You get out of the daily loop

Someone else builds their momentum every single day, so you can stop being the structure, get back to being their parent, and start living life for yourself again. You see the progress without having to manage it.

An investment in their independence

85.7% of our clients were employed, in school, or both by the end of coaching. That is what this money is actually for. Not another year of holding steady, but a young adult who is building a life they can run, and eventually fund, themselves.

About these numbers

Based on 56 coaching engagements from January 2024 through June 2026. These are Not Therapy’s own structured post engagement assessments, not validated clinical instruments, and there is no comparison group. Some clients were still active when we ran the numbers. We are coaching, not treatment, so we do not diagnose or provide medical care, and we do not promise outcomes. We would rather just show you the real data, transparently.
